Description from the shelter
We believe that Pompom was badly mistreated - as soon as she thinks someone wants to hurt her, she will do anything to defend herself. This makes it tricky to groom her but she has gotten better over the years. Despite this, she is a wonderful dog who many of our volunteers fall in love with. Pompom is friendly and happily greets new people. She also loves her walks, walks well on a lead and gets on great with the other dogs at the shelter.
Pompom will need a special experienced adopter. Someone who will accept her for who she is and understand that she had a traumatic start so will need careful handling in certain situations. With the right owner, she will be the most loyal and loving companion.
How Pompom came to RSDR
In May 2012, a young Pompom and her four puppies were abandoned at the shelter. Pompom was very protective of her babies. Sadly, three of her pups passed away. Her fourth, Jakemi was adopted in the Netherlands.
Son: Jakemi (adopted)
