Description from the shelter
Nala is a big beautiful and affectionate girl who is Karakachan mix. The Karakachan is known for it's excellent guarding quality and its independence. In the shelter, these qualities have not yet been expressed, but once Nala has her own home, these behaviours and instincts may show themselves. We are therefore looking for an adopter with experience of similar breeds. A spacious and well secured garden is a must. Nala can live with a stable male dog. Nala's sister Orsla has already been adopted in the Netherlands and lives a great life in a rural area.
How Nala came to RSDR
On the 16th December 2016, seven puppies were brought to the shelter by two men; the mother had given birth at their house under the balcony. They initially fed and looked after the mum and puppies but as the puppies got older they came out of hiding which was dangerous for them, so they were brought to the safety of the shelter.
In January 2017 there was a serious outbreak of Parvovirus in the Plovdiv/Rudozem Region. All the pups caught the virus and sadly, despite veterinary treatment, four of them passed away.
