Description from the shelter
Although Jasper is still a young dog, he is not particularly busy. He walks well on a lead, is good with other dogs and likes to be stroked by the shelter staff. As Jasper has lived in the shelter all his life, he has no idea how to behave in a house; just like a puppy, he will have to learn everything. He can be nervous of new people so we are looking for a calm family who will let Jasper get used to his new life at his own pace and learn to trust. His mother has since been adopted in the Netherlands.
How Jasper came to RSDR
On the 08 October 2016 a lady came to the shelter asking if we could help a young female street dog who was due to give birth. The lady explained the mum to be would be abused and the pups probably tortured. We tried to explain that the shelter was full and we had no space but the lady was crying and begging us, so we agreed to take them in. Jasper and his three sisters were born on the 12 October 2016.
Sadly, a couple of months later there was an outbreak of Parvovirus in the area and despite our best efforts, Jasper's sisters all passed away. Thankfully Jasper made a full recovery.
