Description from the shelter
April is a very friendly girl who gets along well with the shelter staff and the other dogs. When April meets people outside her kennel, she is friendly but cautious. In the shelter she defends her kennel so we suspect she may guard her house and people once she is adopted.
April is a wonderful, sweet dog. In new situations she is very shy but curious. She is fearful of loud traffic so we feel she would be better living in a rural area. April has met the shelter cat and was very gentle with her.
We are looking for an experienced adopter for April. A quiet home and a family who are knowledgeable with nervous dogs would be ideal.
How April came to RSDR
In December 2014 someone appeared at the gate of the shelter with a box containing 3 puppies. They said they found the puppies in the landfill. The boys in the shelter tried to explain that there really was no room in the shelter, but the person put the box on the floor and drove away.
There were 3 little female puppies in the box. We estimate they were born around 30 September 2014. All three of them were very scared and hungry, but after a few days they happily ran over for hugs and strokes.
