15 February 2010 - Spetter has come back into foster care with the RSDR in Holland as her previous owners decided they no longer wanted her. Spetter will need a loving family that can give Spetter a lot of attention. It would be ideal if she was homed with another dog that is quite stable, or that she becomes an only dog. She would not suit a house that has a lot of dogs. She is currently in Rotterdam being looked after by Aurore, one of our adoption representatives who also has adopted an RSDR dog Sefa. Can anyone adopt Spetter and give her a good home? Please contact our RSDR adoption team, if you would like to see Spetter.
Lily is about 5 or 6 years old. She was born on the streets and has lived all her life as a street dog. During this time, she has had many litters of pups and suffered hardships and abuse. She has a pellet still in one front leg and sometimes limps on the other front leg where it appears her shoulder was once fractured. Despite this, she is the most beautiful natured girl and craves love and attention. She would be ideally suited to someone who is at home all day as she likes the comfort of knowing someone is around. Although she does get on with other dogs, she would be better in a home without other animals. All her life she has had to struggle to find shelter and food so she does not like other animals near her food or in her territory. If you don't have other pets and you are at home during the day, you could not wish for a more loyal and loving dog. Lily is a medium sized dog.

Trixie and William were born around October 2008. We first saw William looking after 2 young pups (Poppy and Pippy) who we think may have been his sisters from a later litter. Along with his litter sister Trixie, they stayed by our house until we took them in. William and Trixie now live with us. Both are beautiful friendly dogs. They are both very clean in the house. William and Trixie have to be adopted together. They are devoted to each other and we will not split them up. Both Trixie and William are medium sized dogs.

Tristan was found in another town. Kerry and Tony saw a lady beating this street pup with a broom. He ran happily to Kerry and they brought him home. He is a big pup but still had all his baby teeth. We guess he was born at the end of July. He is very happy, friendly and outgoing with people and other animals. He is a very intelligent dog and took only a couple of days to learn to sit and give his paw. He will need a large garden, plenty of exercise and someone who has plenty of time to train him and play with him.
Michael was born at the end of October. He is one of two pups born to Lily. Can you offer a loving home to this little pup? Michael is a very loving and affectionate little boy.
Mica is also one of Lily's pups born at the end of October. Can you offer this little girl a loving forever home? Mica is in foster care and can be seen in Holland.
Luke managed to catch Khan in the town centre. This poor young dog was in a panic and terrified of everything and everybody. He is now very friendly with people and loves being made a fuss of. We suspect that he was abused and he does need to gain more confidence before he can be adopted. At the moment he is very scared of other dogs and the outside world. If he is ready for adoption in January, he will need a quiet, experienced home and somebody is very understanding of abused dogs.
Willow is a very loving and gentle little girl. Born around the end of august, she was dumped on the streets with her siblings.
Whisper is the sister of Willow, Nutmeg and Aztec. She was born August/ September. Like her brother Aztec, she was terrified of people. We don't know what happened to these poor pups before we found them on the road. Whisper wanted so much to come for a fuss but was scared and would back away if you put your hand towards her. she is always happy to see people and wags her tail but she still needs to gain some confidence. she will need a quiet home and someone who is patient and understands her needs.
Tara was left in a box by our gate, along with her two little sisters. She is a lovely little girl and very sociable.
Tara will be in Holland on the 28 February 2010, and will be staying with one of our foster families until she is adopted. If you would like to see Tara in Holland, please contact the RSDR adoption team rsdr@live.nl
Heather was found wandering round the town centre on her own. She has always been a very friendly and outgoing little girl. She needs her own family where she will be given the love and attention that she deserves. Heather is 4 to 5 months old.
Ben was brought here by two men who said he would be killed if we didn't take him. We had tried explaining that we had no room. They took the rope off him, threw stones at him then drove off. He was so confused but despite this he came back to where he could see people. He is a very friendly dog and loves attention. He has been fine with the cats and has not shown any aggression towards other dogs. Ben is a Barak type dog (Bulgarian hunting dog). We cannot be sure of his exact age but would guess that he is a couple of years old.
We were asked to take Oscar after he had been found on the streets. He was very thin and weak. We noticed that his teeth weren't in a very good condition and this had probably limited him as to what he could eat. He has been getting four meals a day of tinned food and is really doing well. We suspect that at one time he did live in a house and belonged to someone as he is very good at opening doors. We think he might be about 6 years old. It is hard to put an exact age on him as poor nutrition leads to early tooth decay in many of the dogs here. He is quite a tall dog and the more weight he puts on, the stronger he becomes. He loves to play and loves to go out for walks.
Cassie is a gentle giant. She is a karakachan or karackachan cross and was abandoned in the town centre with her puppies. Although Karakachans are not usually very accepting of strangers, Cassie has been trusting and gentle with everyone she has met. We guess she is about 3 years old. She would cower slightly when she first came home so she probably hasn't had the best of treatment. She deserves a home where she will get all the love that she deserves.
Leia was born Nov/Dec 09. She is a very friendly little girl who needs her own home and family.
Cookie was found running about the town centre in the snow. She is a very loving and playful pup and gets on well with other dogs and cats.
We were asked to take Jasmine and her sister Saffron. They were only 4 weeks old so should really have stayed with their mother. They were however getting out of the garden where they were kept and were running about on a busy road. Both girls are very friendly. Their mother is a pure karakachan so they will be fairly big dogs.
