I came across this website the other day - EFT Artists...

EFA Artists Helping Animals is a group of more than 500 independent artists, independent craftspeople, independent vintage suppliers, and independent art and craft suppliers that combine their efforts to provide charitable relief to animals. EFA can be found as a Team on Etsy.com, an online marketplace for buying and selling handmade items. All members of EFA are also Etsy members.

Each month an animal charity is chosen from charities nominated by one or more EFA members to be the EFA Charity of the Month. Please check out our EFA Animal Charity of the Month to see who we are supporting this month as a group and past charities to which we have donated.

Anyone who would like to join? to sell items for charity - please join. Once your a member you can nominate a charity of your choice which everyone that month donates to... Charity of that month receives anything between $ 3000.00 to $ 7,000.00 approx.

A suggestion she was going to do on her causes page on Facebook.  Every $ donated she will match it and it will divided into

her most needed causes. This will be an ongoing thing.

Anita.........that is fantastic!!  You don't know how timely that is as I've literally been talking at work this morning about running a fundraising event.  My idea (let me have your thoughts!) is to hire a local room and run a 'virtual' race night using a greyhound racing DVD (I am actually against greyhound racing but received this as a gift and thought I might put it to use!!).  Punters can bet on which dog wins and along side I will run a raffle etc.

This is the first time I will have tried anything like this myself so grateful for tips and hints to make the event go well.  Am calling it 'Going to The Dogs' as it will be :D

Well it's virtual so it should be fine - as it's safe!!   Safe way to racing..   hon!!  That's a great idea!!  And something fun for people to punt on.

I'd use the posters from the download site aswell as maybe have a donation box aswell as raffle...(you never know some people might donate extra also)..  I'd hand out flyers, posters, information leaflets, business cards at the event so people can take things from the night.

If you need any specific items - please let me know and I'll try to do them up...I still have a few things I want to put on the download site but if u have suggestions I'll try and do them..

Depending on how big an event you are going to make it....Talk to your local Newspaper / radio / television to see if they will run a story on the event  -  usually you can email or fax them a press release of the event.

See if maybe also local pet shops / animal groups (for volunteers).. -->> might donate items towards a raffle...if you will put up posters / business cards of their business etc  (like saying sponsored by so & so)...

See if a local store will help with say nibblies & drinks...  or you can sell your own drinks (soft drink etc?? ) with a BBQ hotdogs from some volunteers....  (I guess it depends on what your going to hire)....

It depends if your going to have it mainly as a small event or big event on what you should do....

I'd make a list of Racedog names   -  to put with flyers etc...so people can look at beforehand and go...I want to go for  so & so...lol  (kind of what they do in horseraces)..

It sounds like heaps of fun..wish I was there lol

Julie Lewis has started her own Fundraising Event for the RSDR.  She and her partner are doing a Fun Run.  You can view this at the Charity Giving Website if you wish to sponsor her.

Hello Anita!

I sent a message to Diane regarding a site http://www.cafepress.com. Here you can find all sorts of objects on which your logo's or other design can be printed on.

Nothing special you would say, but the good thing is that you make your own shop with only the objects you want (ex. stickers, mouse maps, t-shirts....and that's only the beginning) you don't have to order them in advance. So no money lost there in stock.

When someone wants a mug with one of the logo's, the mug will be printed with the wanted design and then send to the person who ordered it. Part of that money goes to RSDR of course.

One problem is that they only are in the US so the postage is a bit more expensive.

Now something completely different!

If you would like to have a place (some room on a server where you can put your logo's, letterheads... Easier to download from and no pop-ups with advertising. If you rather have your proper server space and and in the design of the site. i could offer you some space for a year on one.

Well hope you'll let me know something.

Regards,

Jean-Luc

Hi Jean-Luc

Thank you for the wonderful ideas you have provided.  I will check out the website Cafe Press, it sounds very interesting and could be something to look at.

I'll let you know about the server space soon...  I've been meaning to update the downloads and put them onto the RSDR website, Yes we do have some website space for it, but I'll first check it out to see how much we have and let you know .  xxx   Thank you for for your offer.  You've been extremely helpful.

  xxxx Anita

Is there anyone near Derby in England, who would be prepared to help Julie and Colin Lewis with fundraising. It will be on a Saturday, hopefully before Christmas and they have applied to the council for a license to do a collection. Apart from rattling tins at people, it would be a big help if there were extra people who could talk to people about the RSDR, our dogs and what we do. Please message me if you can help.

Thanks. Diane.
