30th Oct (Veliko Turnovo)
Today Kosta and Liam arrived with Big Dog, Oscar, Jessie, Yoda and Felix. Big Dog had a roam around the garden before settling down inside with us for the night. We let the kittens out to meet him and later on let Felix and Yoda out to meet them all. Big Dog iks great with the cats but they are still a bit wary of him. Jessie and Oscar spent the night in their new pen. We took them on a long walk and they both seem to be settling in fine. George and Big Dog met briefly. We will introduce them to each other a little more each day and take them walks together to see how they get on. Felix and Yoda are both fine. Felix a bit quite but I am sure he will come round and start to like his new surroundings.
30th Oct (Rudozem)
Yesterday I managed to feed the gold dog with the heavy chain around his neck. He is very wary but I put food down and backed away so that he could eat it without worry. Luke has seen a tiny chihauhau in the town but was unable to catch it. We have been told that it has been on the streets for at least 4 days now. We haven't been able to find it but it is doubtful that a tiny dog like that will survive for very long. we will keep looking for it.
The vet came today and gave Odin, Seren, Roma, Shyanne and Lisa, their second vaccinations.
Kosta came back from Veliko and has set off again taking Oscar, Jessie, Bigdog and cats Yoda and Felix. Jessie and Oscar will be vaccinated again with a single rabies vaccine which our vet is unable to get hold of. A month after that, they will be rabies blood tested and if the tests are satisfactory, they will be able to go to the UK for adoption 6 months later. Bigdog is one of our permanent rescues and will be staying with Kerry and Kosta. He will be there with Kerry when Kosta has to travel between Veliko and Rudozem. He loves Kerry and will be happier as he will be able to spend more time in the garden. Bigdog just loves to spend time in the garden but here he gets pestered all the time by the younger dogs and we have to bring him in while other groups of dogs are let out. Yoda and Felix have gone to Kerry as we only have one room here for the cats and we don't want to risk Yasmin or blossom getting pregnant.
Liam has gone back with Kosta to help them with the building of more pens and kennels.

Easy Fundraising - Cause of the Month
Unfortunately we did not win the 150 pounds on the Easyfundraising Cause of the month and came a close second.
It was a close at the end, but we are grateful to both the RSDR and ARK supporters in the voting system in supporting both our charities.
It was wonderful to see the level of support from everyone. Thank you very much to all our wonderful supporters who voted for RSDR we cannot thank you enough.
Animal Rescue Kos, has made a wonderful kind offer to RSDR that they would like to share 75 euros of their winnings to RSDR.
We would like to thank ARK for this generous gesture and for all that they do for the animals on Kos. We appreciate it very much.
If RSDR are nominated again in the following months, on the Easyfundrasising Cause of fhe month, we would also like to extend the same offer that if RSDR win in the future, we would like to also donate half of our winnings to Animal Rescue Kos.
Pups to be named
The five new puppies we rescued from the side of a road yesterday are doing well.
We rescued five tiny pups from next to the road yesterday. Their monther is a feral dog who is living with a pack of over twenty other dogs all fighting for food. The pups are only about 4 weeks old and should be with their mum but sometimes we have to make tough decisions either to take the pups or leave them with their mum with little chance of survival

We need a shelter / clinic so we have room for urgent rescues and can start a neuter / release scheme. If anyone would like to donate 20 euros towards the shelter clinic on the donate page, you can have the chance of naming one of the pups. (3 girl pups are still now to be named.) Judy McHugh has donated for Pup 1 and named her Emma and Pup 5 has been named Lloyd by Sue Jasperson.

We heard this morning that the man who had volunteered to drive the vehicle that Pet Chauffeurs are donating to us, has suddenly gone down with flu and so is unable to drive the vehicle from Holland to Bulgaria. Appeals were put out for another driver but it doesn't look hopeful at short notice. The original plan was for Keith to tow the vehcile on a trailer but now that it is being driven, we have been told that he will need 500 euros for fuel. We had no donations towards the transport of adopted dogs for this trip and now have to find an extra 500 euros at a time when we are desperate for donations and sponsors. Apart from trying to raise funds for the shelter, we are going through so much food. Last week alone, we went through nearly 200kg of dog food.
We had a very upsetting afternoon as Sally somehow managed to get in to next doors garden and killed all his hens.Apart from being upset about the hens we were worried that if he went to the police they would order that Sally had to be put down and that the other dogs had to go. Our neighbout however was more understanding than we could ever have hoped for. He said it has never happened before and he doesn't blame anyone for it. We have said that we will pay for him to get some more hens. This is another reason why we need a shelter with porperly constructed, secure pens.
The man who owns the building that we want to buy for the shelter/clinic has asked that we have a meeting with him tomorrow. It might be to just ask how we are going on with the fundraising but we won't really know until tomorrow.
