13th July
The vet didn't turn up to neuter Teddy, today so we are still waiting for him to be done.
We were driving around town in a thunderstorm looking for Hercules and after not finding him, started to head home. I spotted him on the way back, across from the school. He was going to run off when the van pulled up but Tony shouted to him and it appeared as though he recognised him. He took some coaxing but eventually came for food and took biscuits from Tony. While I was doing a video, I saw a car drive down to the school and then drive off again. I then heard crying and went down to the school where I found two little kittens next to the box that they had just been dumped in. They were so scared that they just cowered and trembled in the wet grass. Because we are so short of space and there is the risk that the dogs could hurt or kill the kittens, usually we would not bring any home unless they were ill. These babies did not have a clue where they were and could have ended up on the road. At least kittens born on the streets, have their mother and grow up knowing their own territory. I couldn't leave them in the terrified state they were in, so I have brought them home.
Blossom is doing really well and is so playfull.

14th July
Just rescued another 5 pups. A neighbour told us about them and showed us where they were. They were outside a cement works which has closed down. There is no one about to feed the dogs so the mother dog has abandoned the pups and gone elsewhere. None of them are used to contact with people so it was a struggle to catch them. There are two boys and three girls.
There was no sign of Hercules today but we have noticed that he tends to stay off the streets when it is hot and come out when it is stormy or raining.
Blossom is doing really well. The two kittens we found yesterday are very scared and hiss as soon as they see anyone. They will soon come round with love and patience.
The vet came today to castrate Teddy. There were problems with the anaesthetic and Teddy did not go to sleep so he wasn't castrated. The vet will come again next week with a different anaesthetic.
